I remember the first lesson, she showed me John 1:1-5. My dark and sinful mind could not grasp it. I was in utter darkness, and could not comprehend the light of the world, but somehow, I knew it was the right way. So, we continued the lessons.
One day we read about Enoch. I wondered what the passage meant “and Enoch walked with God and he was not; for God took him.” Genesis 5:24. She said that God took Enoch to live with Him in heaven. For the first time in my life hope sprang into my heart. I thought that if God did it for one man, maybe He would do it for me too.
“With the word of God in his hands, every human being, wherever his lot in life may be cast, may have such companionship as he shall choose. In its pages he may hold converse with the noblest and best of the human race, and may listen to the voice of the Eternal as He speaks with men…. He may dwell in this world in the atmosphere of heaven, imparting to earth’s sorrowing and tempted ones thoughts of hope and longings for holiness.” Ellen G White – Conflict and Courage page 32
This is a beautiful promise that God gives to all. He longs to have a relationship with us. And He promises that
“…I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” John 14:3
Friend, what ever you are going through, not matter how bleak it may appear, look to the light of men. Hold on to His promises. Stay on the straight and narrow path because one day soon, Christ will surely come.
God bless,
Solange
