Faith is arguably one of the most basic and important aspects of godliness. Without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6). The righteous will live by faith (Galatians 3:11). Jesus even proclaims, "It shall be done to you according to your faith? (Matthew 9:29).

The good news of scripture is that, as human beings, we are failure - utter, incurable, hopeless failures. This is great news because God works more powerfully through our weakness than our strength (2 Corinthians 12:9).

Have you ever sat in a Sabbath School class and someone says, "We are saved by grace through faith and not by works!" And after everyone nods in agreement someone pipes up with, "But, of course, we must obey. After all we are judged by our works." And then a seemingly endless round of argument and counterargument ensues.
