Janie Unruh
Dr. Janie Unruh’s career in healthcare started out innocently enough at 19 years old while an active duty Medic and atheist serving in the U.S. Army when after losing 25 lbs, she was asked to start up an overweight program. Her program had sweeping success by simply advising people to do what she did, which was to eat more sensible and get away from the hotdogs, hamburgers and fries. She also started up prenatal classes with an emphasis on proper nutrition, breast feeding, and natural birth, and rotated throughout the Army base hospital and a Mash Unit. After active duty, while serving in the U.S. Army Active Reserves she received a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) then started working in a regional Intensive Care Burn Center.
